The Offer
Ike stumbled on his first words. He made the offer gracefully after that. "It's not enough," was all she had to say."I'll get back to you," left Ike despondent. Ike does not believe in fairy tales. Fairy tales are for other men. Ike knows that fairy tales are for other people, not him. So he frets. He paces the floor and scowls. Staying busy is the answer. It has always been that way. Wishes and dreams are for other men. Fairy tales do exist says Cora Beth. Send those good vibes out into the ever beyond. Good things do happen, even to simple men with simple wishes. Send those wishes our way. God knows Ike and Cora Beth need support from friends and family.
All those loved ones watching from heaven above, is your view any better than ours?

Can a Small Town Support a Mercantile?
"The store was built with family in mind. Fred and Margie lived "upstairs" above the store until just a few years ago. This enabled them to have their family nearby and be available to the customers.
During the early years, the inventory was much smaller. Everything was on the main level. They began with a few tee shirts, groceries, some hardware, and lots of faith. A customer remembering when Fred' opened, said with a grin, "Everyone thought Fred had lost his mind. We knew Beech Mountain couldn't support a store of its own." Through the addition of a ski shop and an expanded deli, the store has experienced such heights of success and recognition that Fred's General Mercantile has become synonymous with Beech Mountain."

Dreaming of the Mercantile
Now it may be my turn. But my fate is to be none other than Cora Beth. Kinda fitting really. I am a little eccentric and definitely moody. Can be a little bossy too. But it's OK because I've got Ike. He is the easy going, everybody gets, Ike Godsey. The salt of the Earth, I'm here for ya kinda guy. He rides a motorcycle. Likes to wear that funky white apron and chit chat over a soda. Pool and a little of the recipe is not out of the question either.
This is my blog. Not my first attempt either. I hope I find this one more interesting because the last one bored even me.
